We are excited to welcome Sophie Rosenmeier! Sophie joins the group as its first PhD student and will be exploring combinations of topological data analysis and machine learning to analyse multispecies spatial data. We are looking forward to working together and wish her every success on her PhD journey.
Congratulations to Robert McDonald on his new preprint on using TDA for model selection and parameter inference in tumour-induced angiogenesis! This is joint work with Dr. Helen Byrne, Dr. Heather Harrington, and Dr. Thomas Thorne.
Congratulations Tâm Nguyen on his new preprint based on his MSc thesis, bringing together coupled time series and path signatures! This is joint work with Dr. Darrick Lee.
Our recent Bulletin of Mathematical Biology paper Relational persistent homology for multispecies data with application to the tumour microenvironment was featured as an article highlight on the Society for Mathematical Biology’s blog. Check out the blog post here.
Congratulations to my Master’s student, Tâm Nguyen, for winning the 2024 EPFL Annaheim-Mattille prize and the best poster prize for his MSc thesis on Path Signatures for Clustering in Kuramoto Stochastic Block Model (co-supervised with Dr. Darrick Lee)! He is now starting a PhD in the Laboratory of Computational Neuroscience with Prof. Wulfram Gerstner.
